The nearest treetop adventure course to the farm

La Forêt de Robin, at the Col de la Grande Limite near Marsanne: courses from green to black, in a community woodland, in the shade. Allow half a day.

A seven-day stay deep in the countryside holds together better with one day that breaks the rhythm. A treetop course does that job: it is physical, it is in the shade, and it fills a whole half-day without anyone having to decide anything.

The nearest course is La Forêt de Robin, at the Col de la Grande Limite, in the commune of Marsanne, over towards Montélimar — 06 98 83 19 99.

Green to black

La Forêt de Robin

Courses spread across several levels, from the green route accessible to the youngest to the black for teenagers and adults, with zip lines.

The course advertises routes suitable for young children on the lowest levels: the minimum age and height are to be confirmed by phone.

The exact number of routes and obstacles has changed over the years: confirm it by phone, along with the prices and the opening hours on the day.

Around 500 m

The setting

The course is set in the community woodland of Marsanne, at the Col de la Grande Limite, at around 500 metres altitude.

That is a real advantage in summer: you climb in the shade, which is true of no other physical activity in the area between midday and four o'clock.

Why this is the right mid-week day out

Because it is shaded. From June to September, between midday and four o'clock, there is next to nothing to do outdoors in the Drôme provençale: the crag faces due south, the cols bake, the ridge paths have no trees. A course under the canopy is the exception.

Because it depends on no conditions at all. No water level, no thermals, no weather window. It just needs not to be raining and the wind not to be strong.

And because the cottages are designed for two. They are 64 and 71 m² with one bedroom and a sofa bed: the cottages are designed for two, and the sofa bed means you can bring one child or two grandchildren. A treetop course is precisely the activity that works in that set-up.

  • Course levels green to black
  • Minimum age advertised from age 2, to be confirmed
  • Time to allow half a day
  • Altitude of the site around 500 m, in woodland
  • Season spring to autumn, depending on the course
  • Cottage capacity 2 people + 2 extra

Advice and local resources

Call before you set off. That is the only real rule. An adventure park's opening hours change with the season, the numbers and the weather, and it sometimes happens that a park is booked out by a group. This is not a drive to make blind.

Closed shoes, hair tied back, no jewellery. Bring clothes that can rub against a harness and a jumper: it is cooler under the trees than you would think.

Allow plenty of time. A full course often takes longer than expected, especially with children who want to do the zip line again. Do not plan a second activity afterwards.

What nobody else will tell you

Online descriptions of adventure parks are often out of date: the number of obstacles, the prices and the minimum ages change from one year to the next, and the pages that repeat them are not updated. We would rather give you the phone number than a figure that might be wrong.

If you find a difference between this page and what you find on site, tell Corine: we will correct it.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the nearest treetop adventure course to the cottage?
At La Forêt de Robin, at the Col de la Grande Limite in the commune of Marsanne, over towards Montélimar. Phone: 06 98 83 19 99. It is the closest treetop course to the farm.
What is the minimum age for the treetop course?
The course advertises access from age 2 on the lowest routes. Confirm the minimum age and height by phone before you drive out: these criteria change from one season to the next.
How much time should you allow?
Half a day, often more with children. Do not plan a second activity straight afterwards.
What can you do with children when it is too hot?
The treetop course, because it is under the trees, the Nyons swimming centre, the pools of the Lez down in the valley, or the potters' workshops at Dieulefit. Between midday and four o'clock from June to September, the crag and the ridge paths are best avoided.
Are the cottages suitable for a family?
Both cottages are designed for two people, with one bedroom, a 140 cm bed and a sofa bed: the advertised capacity is 2 people plus 2. That suits a couple with one child or two grandchildren, not a large family.
