The Château de Grignan, Madame de Sévigné and the lavandin twenty minutes away. Two cottages for two on a family farm, 16.1 km from the village.
Grignan owes its reputation to its château and to Madame de Sévigné, born 5 February 1626 and died 17 April 1696 at the château. 2026 marks the 400th anniversary of her birth, and the Festival de la correspondance, a festival of letter-writing, is held every year in early July.
The farm is 16.1 km (10 miles) away, twenty-one minutes by road. The Grignan plateau is also where the lavandin flowers earliest, from mid-June.
What Grignan offers during your stay
The farm is twenty-one minutes from the Château de Grignan: close enough for the Tuesday morning market or a summer evening at the Festival de la correspondance, far enough to come back to real quiet. The lavandin fields are on the farm's own land, to be seen before the mid-July harvest without getting back in the car.
On the way to Grignan, walled Taulignan is 13 minutes from the farm, and Nyons, known for its AOP olive oil, is 24 minutes away: three villages and three markets, Grignan on Tuesday, Nyons on Thursday, Taulignan on Friday, all within half an hour.
Each cottage sleeps two, up to four with the sofa bed, and dogs are welcome.
Two cottages for two at Roche-Saint-Secret-Béconne. Book direct, no commission.
